This vintage California plate was first released in 1982. It has a white background with blue text. Above the text is the state name of California over a golden sun. The bottom of the plate features the text, "The Golden State." In 1983, "The Golden State" license plate was awarded the "Plate of the Year" award by the Automobile License Plate Collectors Association.
